Meeting the Industry’s Highest Standards, To Bring the Cotton You Deserve.
1: Mechanical Cleaning
Cotton fibers run through a processing machine that pulls the fibers apart. Once pulled apart, the fibers move through an opening and cleansing system, which removes unwanted microfibers. Next, the cotton is moisturized, packed into cakes, and placed into kiers, which are large heated and pressurized vessels for the wet purification process.
2: Scouring & Purifying
For the cleaning process, a continuous stream of a sodium hydroxide solution is pumped into the kiers as they heat and pressurize. This process softens the fiber’s natural waxes into water-soluble soaps and loosens any remaining debris. Once the scouring process is complete, the cakes are rinsed with fresh water. Once the scouring process is complete the product is put through Totally Chlorine Free process. This is a process of oxidation in which hydrogen peroxide is used to eliminate color elements from the cotton, thus leaving the remaining microfibers white. The white cotton is then left to settle for a set period. Then the solution is drained and the pure cotton rinsed. A special solution, known as “fiber finish” is used to prepare the cotton for the end-user's needs before fully draining the kier.
3: Opening & Drying
To complete the bleaching process, the wet cakes of cotton are broken into individual tufts and dried. At this stage the product can be customized according to the client’s specifications, such as having a set amount of moisture level, density or softness, color or whiteness.
4: Total Contamination Control
Our machinery includes the proven technology of USTER® JOSSI VISION SHIELD which eliminates foreign matter at both ends of the production process, ensuring total contamination control with minimum waste.
5: Quality Control & Packing
The product is carefully tested after the purification process in order to ensure the highest quality output. The bales of cotton are then ready to be shipped out to the client to be used for their specific usage.
